Drain Rods
Our first port of call for unblocking drains is the drainage rod. This is a semi-flexible metal rod that is inserted into the problem pipe, and is designed to puncture a blockage membrane, so that water flows past, carrying the rest of the blockage with it. This is unsuitable for clearing blockages that are some distance from the inspection hatch, as the rod has a limited range.
